• The focus of this course is investigation with an emphasis on forensic evidence. Topics range from Fingerprint theory and practice, image capture and enhancement, crime scene protocols, management and biometrics. Examination of current controversies in the collection, preservation and analysis of forensic evidence. Special guest lectures by practicing forensic scientists will give students direct contact with the role they play in the extraction and meaning of evidence. Generally accepted practices and protocols in the collection, preservation and continuity of physical evidence are examined. Forensic evidence including autopsies, human identification, lethal agents, DNA, trace elements, bite marks and other types of new and innovative forensic evidence will be examined.

• Introduction to Firearms, how they are collected and packaged for examination
